EXHIBITION CENTER...The Coney Island History Project's exhibition center is located at Deno's Wonder Wheel Park on West 12th Street, just off the Boardwalk. Our public exhibition center is open on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day and for special events such as Coney Island's Opening Day and Easter Sunday. Admission is Free!

The exhibition center is open year round for our weekend walking tours as well as private visits by schools and other groups. Please send inquiries to

View exhibits of historic artifacts, photographs, maps, ephemera and films of Coney Island's colorful past. Visitors are invited to take a FREE SOUVENIR PHOTO with Spook-A-Rama veteran 'Skully' or an original Steeplechase horse from the legendary ride that gave Steeplechase Park its name.

WALKING TOURS...The Coney Island History Project is pleased to announce walking tours of the historic landmarks and current attractions of the amusement district. Please visit our online reservation website to see the walking tour schedule and purchase advance tickets online. If you have a question or to arrange a group tour, e-mail Tours are based on CIHP Director Charles Denson's award-winning book Coney Island: Lost and Found, the oral history interviews in our archive and other primary sources. Tours are offered on weekends year-round as well as throughout the year to groups on weekdays and weekends by advance reservation. 

ORAL HISTORY ARCHIVE...The History Project's Oral History Archive is rich with stories of people who have lived, worked or played in Coney Island. You can find and listen to their stories via our searchable online database, which is organized by theme, place, period and name. WE are also recording Immigrant Narrative of Southern Brooklyn.  If you have a story to share, please email us for an appointment: Interviews are conducted year round, both in Coney Island and off-site.
